Israeli government spokesperson Eylon Levy says the families of hostages have shared "chilling" evidence of their conditions.

"Children were serially abused," Mr Levy says.

Mr Levy said 161 people were still being held hostage by Hamas and "the government has approved a list of another 50 violent criminals for prospective release should Hamas decide to continue releasing hostages."
