It's always been considered a last resort, but for people who fight a losing battle against obesity, lap-banding is becoming a more effective option. Many Australian teenagers - some as young as 13 - are opting for the procedure and there's certainly new research to back that choice. But some medicos are worried that we're giving up on good diet and regular exercise in favour of a surgical quick fix.
