Taliban announces Afghanistan's new hardline interim government

Weeks after taking full control of Afghanistan, the Taliban has announced key members of its interim government. Among them is the new head of government, who will be Mullah Mohammad Hasan Akhund.

Mullah Akhund, who is already on a UN sanctions list, has held power before as the country's deputy prime minister under the Taliban.

Despite the regime's brutal history, it says it wants to start fresh, hoping for stability and international acknowledgement. But as Crystal Goomansingh reports, the new, all-male cabinet is made up of the Taliban's hard-liner old guard — while threats of murder, violence and intimidation remain.
