Syria earthquake: Father brought to tears after reuniting with lost son

A Syrian father was brought to tears on Thursday when he finally reunited with his 18-month-old son after the two were separated by the huge earthquake that brought death and destruction to the country on Monday.

Jomaa Biazid said he and his family were left under the rubble of their collapsed house after the quake hit. Four days later, he said he was "surprised" to learn his son Ibrahim was alive, though he is still hoping to find news about his other son Mustafa. He also learned his wife and daughter had died.

"I didn't know anything about Ibrahim so I was surprised when they reached out to me telling me he's alive," he told reporters.

Ibrahim was found in Afrim hospital hours after the earthquake by Atef Nahnouh, who said he posted video of the child eating a banana on social media in hopes of finding a family member.
