Supply shortages in Sudan are becoming ‘extremely acute’: UN

Millions of Sudanese say basic services in the country are no longer working, with essential supplies running out.
They are appealing for both sides to stop the fighting for the sake of civilians in facing growing danger.
The UN humanitarian office has said supply shortages around the Sudanese capital were worsening and prices for basic goods were skyrocketing.
“After 10 days of fighting, shortages of food, water, medicines and fuel are becoming extremely acute, especially in Khartoum and surrounding areas,” the OCHA said in a statement.
Karl Schembri, the regional media adviser for East Africa and Yemen at the Norwegian Refugee Council, said that people are resorting to desperate measures to escape the conflict.
He told Al Jazeera from Nairobi that people are walking dozens of kilometres in various directions to escape the fighting in the capital.
