As COVID-19 restrictions Canada begin to ease, more hospitals are resuming surgeries which were on hold during the pandemic.

But with more surgeries, a larger blood supply is needed.

Global’s Sharmeen Somani spoke with Canadian Blood Services and tells us why we’re seeing more shortages of blood now than we did pre-pandemic.
