Sudan's military leaders have signed a new agreement with a coalition of pro-democracy parties. It aims to pave the way to civilian rule following the generals' seizure of power in October 2021. Several countries including the U.S. have welcomed the deal. But there's significant opposition in Sudan, where at least 120 people have been killed in demonstrations over the past year. Protest leaders say the deal restores a partnership between the military and political elite.
