Sudan's Burhan sacks RSF head Hemedti as deputy of sovereign council

The head of Sudan's ruling sovereign council has fired the leader of the Rapid Support Forces as his deputy.

The leader of the army, Abdel Fattah al Burhan, signed a decree on Friday to sack Hamdan Dagalo, known as Hemedti, from the transitional council with immediate effect.
Millions have been caught in the bitter power struggle between the two warring generals.
Heavy fighting has continued in the capital and in Darfur.
The Sudanese Doctors’ Union says at least 833 civilians have been killed.
