Sudan: Orphanage in Khartoum evacuated after children perish from starvation

An orphanage in Sudan’s war-torn capital has been evacuated after the deaths of more than 70 infants, toddlers and older children from hunger and illness over the past couple of months.

The International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN children's agency were able to negotiate safe passage between the conflicting sides after violence erupted in the country in April.
