So far the fighting in Sudan has destroyed numerous medical facilities and forced many doctors and other health workers to flee. Those who can bear to remain, are overwhelmed with patients.

Health care workers in Khartoum have been doing the impossible: caring for the wounded without water, electricity and basic medical supplies. Numerous medical facilities have been shelled in the violence that broke out on April 15 between rival generals and the forces they command.
