People arriving in Chad having fled the civil war in Sudan have reported a surge in killings in West Darfur.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary group has been fighting the Sudanese government since April, and has recently seized control of a key army base.

In just over six months of war, at least 10,000 people have been killed, although that figure is
considered to be a gross under-estimate.
