For nine months, the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces have been fighting for control.
More than five million people have been displaced in the war.
Both sides are accused of forcibly disappearing civilians - and torturing them in detention centres.
They deny the allegations.
The rights group - Sudan Emergency Lawyers - says what’s happening is inhumane and in breach of international law.

Al Jazeera’s Hiba Morgan talked to some of those who say they were detained and beaten.
