As post-secondary school students across the country head back to class, there's a chance they'll be exposed to Meningitis B in congregate settings like dorms or bars.

Meningitis B is a strain of particular concern, as fewer people are vaccinated for it. And in 2021, it led to the death of 19-year-old Canadian university student, Kai Matthews.

"I'll never be able to comprehend the fact that Kai died, first of all, from a preventable disease like that's so young ...That's something I find impossible to wrap my head around," Kai's father Norrie Matthews said.

As Alexia Kapralos reports, Meningitis B vaccines and their efficacy are limited.
