Starmer: "Grotesque chaos" in sacking of Kwasi Kwarteng

Sir Keir Starmer was speaking at a regional Labour Party conference in Barnsley.

The Conservatives "didn't just tank the British economy – they also clung on," the Labour leader said.

"Clung on as they made the pound sink, clung on as they took our pensions to the brink of collapse," he added.

Sir Keir added that Conservative MPs must know they have "no mandate for unfunded promises".
