Sky News has witnessed the devastating effects lockdown has had on the mental health of some children.

Correspondent Nick Martin was given access to a children’s mental health unit where he spoke to those dealing with eating disorders – and the staff trying to save their lives.

This report discusses the effects and impacts of eating disorders and mental ill health, including references to and images of self-harm suicide and ligatures.

If you have been impacted by any of the issues from this report, you’re not alone – help is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at the Samaritans. You can call them for free on 116 123. And the eating disorder charity BEAT, is also available – free – on 0808 801 0677 and at https://www.beateatingdisorders.org.uk/.
