Spain: Heavy rain sweeps across the country

Spain's national weather agency AEMET has issued a maximum red alert, meaning extreme danger is possible in the Madrid region, Toledo province and the city of Cadiz.

Railway lines have been closed, a football match has been cancelled and residents have been ordered to stay indoors.
