The Nervión and Cadagua rivers in northern Spain burst their banks on Monday, flooding streets in towns along the river banks after heavy rain and snow in the region melted.

In Alonsotegi the Cadagua River flowed violently, cutting off roads, while footage showed flooded streets in the town of Basauri where the Nervión River overflowed.

Heavy rain also flooded streets in Bilbao, leaving dozens of cars stranded in the floodwaters caused by the Nervión River.

Over the weekend, Storm Arwen had also forced roads to close and left truck drivers stranded as heavy snowfall hit the northern part of Spain.
