Sinn Fein Vice President Michelle O'Neill has declared she will be "a first minister for all" at a news conference in Stormont.

Northern Ireland Secretary Brandon Lewis is meeting leaders from the main parties to encourage a power sharing agreement, but the DUP have made clear they will not join an executive without changes to the Northern Ireland Protocol.

Without a power sharing agreement, an executive cannot be formed and Ms O'Neill would not be able to take up the post of first minster.

She said: "There can be no excuses, there can be no attempt by the DUP or by anyone else to punish the public and leave workers and families high and dry now or in the time ahead."
