Northern Ireland government: First minister set to be member of Sinn Fein party

Northern Ireland is preparing to usher in its first devolved government in nearly two years. That's after the Democratic Unionist Party agreed to rejoin the power-sharing executive.

In the most recent elections Sinn Fein became the largest single party in the assembly, for the first time in Northern Ireland’s history. That means it will take the position of First Minister marking a major milestone in its transition from armed conflict to political movement.
