Sky News has travelled to Senegal where a record number of people are departing on small boats in an attempt to reach Europe.

But the route - one of the most dangerous in the world - is claiming the lives of hundreds of young men.

The journey can be up to 1,300 miles with migrants departing Senegal's western coast by boat, and then sailing north to the Canary Islands.
