Rotten wood and leaky ceilings are some of the poor conditions an Invercargill High School is dealing with. Waiting nearly a decade for new buildings, now Principal Mike Newell is pleading for the much-needed classrooms, saying the politics don't matter.

The Government announced the inquiry into the school property system on Monday, pausing 20 building projects and putting 350 school building projects under review.
