Saskatchewan Indigenous inmate Faith Eagle is beginning the 10th week of a hunger strike, and says she'll continue to refuse food until living conditions improve at her correctional facility in Prince Albert.

The Saskatchewan government says it’s monitoring the situation, but little has been done to address the issue at hand.

Heather Yourex-West explains how the poor treatment of Indigenous inmates is also factoring into the protest, and how it highlights existing problems in prisons across Canada.
