पश्चिम बंगाल के संदेशखाली में महिलाओं के यौन उत्पीड़न के मामले में सियासी वार-पलटवार के बीच सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने लोकसभा सचिवालय और बंगाल BJP के अध्यक्ष सुकांत मजूमदार को नोटिस भेजकर चार हफ़्तों में जवाब मांगा है। वहीं BJP सांसद लॉकेट चटर्जी ने ममता बनर्जी सरकार की तुलना मुग़ल काल से करते हुए कहा कि सदियों बाद एक बार फिर बंगाल में एक बार मुगलों का राज वापस आ गया है। इस बीच राष्ट्रीय महिला आयोग की अध्यक्ष रेखा शर्मा ने संदेशखाली पहुंचकर ममता बनर्जी पर महिलाओं का दर्द नहीं समझने का आरोप लगाया।

Amidst the political backlash in the case of sexual harassment of women in Sandeshkhali, West Bengal, the Supreme Court has sent a notice to the Lok Sabha Secretariat and Bengal BJP President Sukant Majumdar, seeking their reply within four weeks. Whereas BJP MP Locket Chatterjee compared the Mamata Banerjee government with the Mughal era and said that after centuries, the Mughal rule has once again returned to Bengal. Meanwhile, National Commission for Women Chairperson Rekha Sharma reached Sandeshkhali and accused Mamata Banerjee of not understanding the pain of women.
