पश्चिम बंगाल के नॉर्थ 24 परगना जिले के संदेशखाली में महिलाओं और कम उम्र की लड़कियों के साथ यौन उत्पीड़न मामले को लेकर जारी बवाल बढ़ता नज़र आया। बीजेपी ने 6 सदस्यीय फैक्ट फाइंडिंग कमेटी बनाई और उसे संदेशखाली जाकर मामले की पूरी रिपोर्ट तैयार करने को कहा। संदेशखाली जा रही बीजेपी की इस टीम को पुलिस ने धारा-144 लागू होने का हवाला देते हुए सरबेरिया रामपुर में ही रोक लिया। जिसके बाद कई घंटों तक बीजेपी कार्यकर्ताओं और पुलिस के बीच कहासुनी होती रही।

The ongoing uproar over the case of sexual harassment of women and underage girls was seen increasing in Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. BJP formed a 6-member fact finding committee and asked it to go to Sandeshkhali and prepare a complete report of the matter. This BJP team, which was going to Sandeshkhali, was stopped by the police in Sarberia Rampur citing the implementation of Section 144. After which an altercation continued between BJP workers and the police for several hours.
