भारत के महान कृषि वैज्ञानिक एम एस स्वामीनाथन ने 98 साल की उम्र में दुनिया को अलविदा कह दिया. गुरुवार (28 सितंबर, 2023) को तमिलनाडु की राजधानी चेन्नई में उन्होंने अंतिम सांस ली. 7 अगस्त, 1925 को तमिलनाडु के तंजावुर जिले में जन्मे स्वामीनाथन एक कृषि वैज्ञानिक थे. भारत की हरित क्रांति के जरिए खाद्यान्न के मामले में आत्मनिर्भर बनने में स्वामीनाथन का एक बड़ा रोल रहा है. कृषि वैज्ञानिक स्वामीनाथन की रिसर्च की वजह से किसानों की पैदावार बढ़ी. भारत की हरित क्रांति के जनक के रूप में जाने जाने वाले डॉ. स्वामीनाथन के कामों की वजह न केवल देश के कृषि सेक्टर का सुधार हुआ, बल्कि भारत को भोजन की कमी से भी लड़ने में मदद मिली. स्वामीनाथन ने न सिर्फ किसानों के भलाई के लिए काम किया, बल्कि उन्होंने एक ऐसी रिपोर्ट को तैयार किया, जिसकी आज भी चर्चा होती है. इस रिपोर्ट को स्वामीनाथन रिपोर्ट के तौर पर जाना जाता है. आइए आज आपको इस रिपोर्ट के बारे में बताते हैं.
