Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced to honor three people with Bharat Ratna on Friday (February 9, 2024). These include former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao, former PM Chaudhary Charan Singh and father of Green Revolution S. The name of M Swaminathan is included. Before him, on February 3, it was announced that former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani would also be honored with this honour. On January 24, the name of Karpoori Thakur, who was the Chief Minister of Bihar twice, was announced for the Bharat Ratna award on his 100th birth anniversary. प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने शुक्रवार (9 फरवरी, 2024) को तीन लोगों को भारत रत्न से सम्मानित करने की घोषणा की है. इनमें पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री नरसिम्हा राव, पूर्व पीएम चौधरी चरण सिंह और हरित क्रांति के जनक एस. एम स्वामीनाथन का नाम शामिल है. उनसे पहले 3 फरवरी को पूर्व उप प्रधानमंत्री लाल कृष्ण आडवाणी को भी इस सम्मान से सम्मानित किए जाने का ऐलान किया गया था. 24 जनवरी को दो बार बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री रहे कर्पूरी ठाकुर के नाम की उनकी 100वीं जयंती पर भारत रत्न सम्मान के लिए घोषणा की गई थी. इस साल सरकार ने पांच लोगों को भारत रत्न से सम्मानित करने का ऐलान किया है.2014 से अब तक प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की सरकार में 10 लोगों को देश का यह सर्वोच्च सम्मान दिया जा रहा है. वहीं, 2004 से 2014 तक जब यूपीए की सरकार थी और डॉक्टर मनमोहन सिंह प्रधानमंत्री थे तो तीन लोगों को भारत रत्न से सम्मानित किया गया. पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री पंडित जवाहर लाल नेहरू से अब तक, एक नजर डाल लेते हैं कि किसकी सरकार में कितने लोगों को भारत रत्न मिला
