For decades, a mysterious safe has stayed sealed shut inside a historic hotel in downtown Winnipeg.

It had been there before the Garrick Hotel was renovated, and with no one with a code to get it open, people were left wondering what was in store and if it involved a fortune.

Thanks to a skilled safe breaker who cracked the code, they are wondering no more.
