The Russian Defense Ministry has released a video of the incident. A Russian Su-27 tailed a tanker until it left the area.

France has confirmed it conducted missions on Dec 8 & 9 - but claimed they were within international norms and not heading towards the Russian border. The French side added that the Russian pilots acted professionally.
