It seems "Russiagate" is back in the headlines. Russian analyst Igor Danchenko, contributor to the Steele Dossier and a prime source of former UK spy Christopher Steele, its author, was arrested on Thursday and charged with lying to the FBI on multiple occasions and denying his connections to the Clinton campaign of 2016. Investigative journalist Ben Swann reports. Then Ed Martin of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles weighs in. He laments that US media will divert attention from the reality of what happened in the 2106 race now that the picture is becoming clear. He says that federal agencies were “weaponized” in service of partisan ambitions and warns that “if no one is held accountable, the message is to keep doing it.”
RT America's Alex Mihailovich reports on the fraught relationship between Iran and the United States, from the hostage crisis to the JCPOA to the assassination of Quds Force Commander, Gen. Qasem Soleimani.
On November 5, protesters will descend on the Federal Reserve for an unsanctioned punk rock show and attempt to "occupy" it. Harrison Schultz, founding member of Occupy Wall Street, joins RT America's Faran Fronczak to discuss the looming action and argue that the Federal Reserve deserves attention and condemnation by Black Lives Matter activists, environmental activists and those who seek to emancipate women from sexual exploitation. He describes the Federal Reserve as a real world conspiracy that is unconstitutional and that activists of the Left and Right alike ought to unite in opposition to its nefarious influence.
Jury selection has concluded for the three white men accused of murdering Ahmaud Arbery, an unarmed 25-year-old Black man when he was jogging in a residential neighborhood. Eleven white citizens and only one Black citizen were chosen in the jury selection process. The judge said that although it seemed discriminatory, the defense attorneys were valid to cite "strong opinions" about the trial in explaining their decision not to include otherwise qualified Black jurors. The trial will proceed despite public anger over the demographics of the jury and fears over an unfair verdict. Independent journalist Ashlee Banks joins RT America's Faran Fronczak with the details.
Plus, cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide. It's expected to become the leading cause of death in the US this year. Researchers have discovered a breakthrough cancer test that can detect more than 50 types of cancer, and can do so years earlier than the appearance of symptoms. The FDA has yet to approve the simple blood test, so it remains costly for patients. RT America's John Huddy reports.
