Pictures coming out of Rostov-on-Don suggest the mood on the city’s streets was festive as people gathered to watch the Wagner troops leave for their field camps.
Some residents cheered, while others tried to grab the hands of the departing mercenaries.
The situation around the headquarters of Russia’s Southern Military District was calm and street traffic resumed, according to RIA state news agency, after Yevgeny Prigozhin and his mercenaries left the city.
