Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed an offer from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Thursday to host peace talks with Moscow as tensions between the two countries continue to escalate.

Russia has massed troops near Ukraine’s borders in recent weeks, but denies plans to attack its neighbour.

The possibility of peace talks was raised as Zelensky met with Erdogan to sign a free trade deal between the two countries.
