Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a surprise visit to Ukraine on Sunday, along with Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland and Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly.

The trio raised the flag on the Canadian embassy Sunday, as it opened for the first time since mid-February.

The prime minister also pledged new military aid for Ukraine, including funding for de-mining efforts in besieged cities.
