Russia on the verge of controlling key Ukraine stronghold of Sievierodonetsk

The eastern Ukrainian city of Sievierodonestk may be days away from falling to Russian forces, as the Luhansk province's last Ukrainian stronghold is bombarded with artillery while many civilians remain trapped.

Ukrainian officials say about 800 people are hiding in a nitrogen facility along with an unknown number of soldiers. Meanwhile, invading Russian forces have already seized almost every other part of Luhansk, in eastern Ukraine, where Russia is concentrating its offensive.

As Crystal Goomansingh reports, the assault on the city echoes the same tactics used to devastate the city of Mariupol.
