Russia calls on UNSC meeting to avert escalation in Gulf

Russia called a special session of the UN Security council today to discuss volatility in the Persian Gulf region and what can be done to stop the potential escalation of any possible violence. RT America’s John Huddy has more. After an outright rejection of the one-year New START proposal by National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien, it appears that the US and Russia may reach a deal after all. Russian officials seem to be conceding to freeze the number of nuclear warheads in an effort to bring the US back to the table to sign the extension. Former UK MP George Galloway weighs in.
