Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo appeared to confuse Saudi Arabia, the country where his new club is based, with South Africa, during a news conference unveiling him as an Al-Nassr player on Tuesday.

"For me, it's not the end of my career coming to South Africa," he said.

The 37-year-old, who was a free agent following his split with Manchester United in November, joined the club last week on a two-and-a-half-year deal estimated to be worth more than €200 million.

The same day, Ronaldo was greeted by a sea of yellow and blue at Al-Nassr's home ground Mrsool Park, with thousands of fans turning up to witness his unveiling as he walked onto the field with the flashes of cameras around him.
