The U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments in Dobbs vs Jackson Women’s Health Organization on Wednesday, a case that could potentially unravel abortion protections across the country.

Justices are considering the constitutionality of Mississippi’s Gestational Age Act, passed by the state legislature in 2018, but later overturned in federal court.

The act outlaws abortion after 15 weeks, well before a fetus becomes viable, except in the case of a severe fetal abnormality or medical emergency.

As Alyssa Julie reports, abortion advocates are concerned the highest court, with a 6-3 Conservative makeup, could be preparing to roll back protections enshrined by the landmark ruling of Roe v Wade.
