Hundreds of demonstrators gathered outside the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday after a draft opinion leaked that suggests the United States' high court would overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade case that legalized abortion nationwide in the U.S.

Abortion rights advocates gathered outside the court in D.C. to protest the potential decision that would remove a woman's right to a safe abortion protected by the law.

The decision to overrule the case could lead to abortion bans in roughly half of the United States and could have huge ramifications for this year’s U.S. elections.

However, the draft is not the court’s final decision, as opinions can change in the process of drafting a ruling.
