California Governor Gavin Newsom has denied parole for the man who assassinated US presidential candidate Robert Kennedy in 1968.
Sirhan Sirhan, a Palestinian refugee, has been serving a life sentence for the killing and Newsom said he was not certain that Sirhan was no longer a threat to the community.
Robert Kennedy's murder came just five years after his older brother President John F Kennedy was killed in Texas.
