Rishi Sunak pledges more hospital beds and ambulances amid Zahawi row

The Prime Minister says that he acted decisively in sacking Nadhim Zahawi, and has insisted that integrity is important to him.

That political row risked overshadowing the Government's plan for relieving pressure on the NHS.

Mr Sunak pledged thousands more hospital beds and 800 new ambulances as part of a plan to "fix" emergency care in the health service - but is still refusing to move on nurses' pay.
