Rio’s Carnival celebration is back, but parties will be smaller

Brazil’s world famous Carnival is back. Last year the festival had been cancelled because of the global pandemic. This year it was postponed two months because of the omicron wave. Although Brazilians are facing an economic crisis, the main theme of the parade is the fight against racism. Brazil has the largest Black population outside Africa.
