The fallout from England’s loss to Italy on Sunday at the EuroCup Final continues. Anonymous online users on Facebook and Twitter hurled racist abuse at three Black players who failed to convert England’s penalty shootout attempts. Boris Johnson has now appeared in Parliament condemning the abuse and called for action. Some in the UK government are calling for verification services that would make it easier to find out the real identity of users online and prosecute them for hate crimes or deny them the right to attend football matches. Is this a breach of privacy? Former UK MP George Galloway weighs in.
