Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle joined Prince William and Kate Middleton as they greeted well-wishers and took in the growing tribute to Queen Elizabeth II outside Windsor Castle on Saturday.

Queen Elizabeth died Thursday at age 96 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

Relations between the two sons of King Charles III have been strained in recent years after Prince Harry and Meghan left the royal family and moved to the United States.

Prince William’s spokesperson said he invited Harry and Meghan, officially known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, to join him and Kate as they examined the flowers and spoke to those lined up outside the entrance of Windsor Castle.

The sight of the two couples together will raise hopes that there has been a rapprochement following the death of Britain’s longest-serving monarch.
