Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about the country's relations with the U.S., the UK's warship near Crimea that was a "clear provocation," and naming his possible successor during an annual Q&A session with the president in Moscow.

When speaking about U.S.-Russia relations, Putin pressed an imaginary button on his forehead to show how the U.S. leadership "activates its brain" while comparing it to a child's behaviour.

A British warship that Russia says illegally entered its territorial waters near Crimea earlier this month was "a clear provocation" and was to observe in detail how Russian forces would react, Putin said.

When it comes to his successor, Putin said while he will have an opinion, the choice would ultimately lie with voters. His current six-year term in the Kremlin is due to end in 2024.
