Pro-Iranian factions in Iraq have rejected the results of Sunday’s parliamentary elections while warning they will defend their voting rights.
There are serious fears their rejection could hurt Iraq’s already unstable security.
However, the escalation may reflect a host of political issues and is not simply about the election.
