Princess Anne began a three-day tour in British Columbia on Friday with the christening of a new Canadian navy vessel in North Vancouver.

The HMCS Max Bernays arrived in Esquimalt last month, and is the first Arctic and Offshore Patrol Vessel for Canada’s Pacific fleet.

The Princess Royal will sail overnight in the vessle to Esquimalt where she will tour the Military Family Resource Centre, the God's Acre Veteran's Cemetery and the Maritime Museum of B.C.

In Victoria, the Princess Royal will visit the FED Urban Agriculture project, the B.C. Legislature, the Royal Victoria Yacht Club and the Victoria Therapeutic Riding Association.

She will also meet with Lt.-Gov. Janet Austin.
