The BJP had commissioned a media blitz to tackle the stalemate with farmers protesting the new agricultural laws. The central government on Friday began pushing a narrative that the "ultra-left" has hijacked the demonstrations. Farmers' groups have rubbished the claims as "propaganda". Prime Minister Narendra Modi, strongly defending farm laws that have triggered massive protests near Delhi, said today he was ready "with folded hands" to discuss every issue with farmers and allay their fear.
