Prime Time With Ravish Kumar - September 9, 2021: Ravish Kumar asks why the government doesn't provide updates about how many jobs have been generated through schemes that were announced in the past. In June 2016 the government announced a Rs 6,000 crore package for the textiles and apparels sector with the hope of generating 1 crore more jobs. On Wednesday, the government approved the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme worth Rs 10,683 crore for the textiles sector to boost domestic manufacturing and exports. The scheme will help in creating direct additional employment of more than 7.5 lakh people and several lakhs more for supporting activities. (Audio in Hindi)
