Prime Minister: 'It's been a big and emotional day' as all school children in England return

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has held a news conference on the "emotional" day that children go back to school.

He said it was the "first step on the roadmap" out of lockdown.

From today people will also be allowed to meet another person in the park for a picnic and one person will be allowed indoors to visit a resident in a care home.

But the Prime Minister urged the public to continue to 'Stay Home, Protect the NHS and Save Lives'.
