For hours on Saturday, it looked like Hamas wasn’t going to turn over the hostages – it claimed there were several parts of the deal Israel wasn’t following.
A Hamas spokesperson claimed there was fighting in breach of the humanitarian pause.
It also said too few trucks were being allowed into northern Gaza and it said Israel was supposed to release prisoners based on how much time they had served.
The transfer went ahead anyway, but not until Israel said its troops would go back to fighting at midnight.
