Top officials from several elite universities testified before the House Education Committee to answer criticism that they're not doing enough to counter antisemitism, with UPenn President Liz Magill saying the need for "both safety and free expression…can be difficult to balance."

The House Education Committee is led by GOP Rep. Virginia Foxx, who has called demonstrations at some of the universities "morally reprehensible" and said she will "demand accountability for this kind of hateful and violent rhetoric."
